Some time ago there was a discussion of accessible text editors on this
list.
Light Notepad was identified as fully accessible with Talks but the problem
was you could not use it from file manager as it did not associate with the
txt file type. Several were interested in solving this problem.

I have now found at least a part solution to the problem after experimenting
with Y browser.
I opened Y Browser and navigated to a text file.
I then selected options
Then Settings
File association
Modify
I then cursored through a big list of 136 file types until I came to text
plain.
I pressed enter on this
I then cursored pass general until I came to
Change Handler.
This was set to none.
I then went down a list of applications until I found light notepad.
I pressed enter on this to select it.
I then found that, in Y browser at least, pressing enter on a text file will
open it in Light notepad.
I have not checked yet whether this change extends to the system as a whole,
including email and File Manager . I would be happy to junk File Manager for
y browser anyway but the email function would be useful.
It may be that you do not actually have to navigate to a text file to make
this change but I have related the steps I took which were successful.

David Griffith
