Then you could buy a new phone and not require sighted help. it would have to check if a sim card were present but it does so for the sim license. When I get sighted help now to set time and date I just get them to tell me when I am at the main screen skipping the time and date as once you get into clock and settings and enable auto time update then press softkey1 twice it's done it could even use the positioning servers to set the country and region. It would just be nice to know that all you had to do was click on the talks installer. hopefully it will happen in the not to distant future. Remember the days when talks would mute during all calls and to get this fixed became one of my hobby horses. Now to be able to install talks independently of sighted assistance would be extremely useful for many blind people who live alone and may only have visits from a couple of sighted people in a week.
