I started editing post-NE2, so I never had the pleasure of encountering him. If it *is* him, then he's doing the exact opposite of what I've heard about him in terms of road classifications. For that reason, it just doesn't sound like him to me, but like I said, I never worked with him, so I can't really speak to his "touch" when it comes to how his edits look. I was hoping someone else would come out and use the "V" word before I did--thank you, Shawn.
