IMHO the tag is appropriate.

Admittedly, I don’t see in the German version a restriction to mapping water 
jets.
Historically it was “Brunnen” until 2015, when it was replaced with 
“Springbrunnen oder Wasserspiel”

My guess is this change was introduced to avoid confusion with wells (also 
called “Brunnen” in German), not to exclude decorative fountains.
Ultimately, this is a problem (or at least question) to discuss on the German 
ML/forum, as it doesn’t concern the English wiki.
