That's why the building=* tag stays in place, and you may leave the name there as well (particularly when it serves as a navigational aid), just drop the amenity=pub tag. With disused:amenity=pub you may get in trouble. What if it was a pub at one time, a nightclub at another time and a restaurant at yet another time? Maybe it still looks like a nightclub, although it was used as a pub lately. -- Friedrich K.
