As with everything in OSM - It’s based on it’s intended purpose - commingled
with what “feels right” to the mapper that is agreed upon or verifiable to
other mappers.

That’s why I’m bringing it up - it seems to be in a different class than a
small net fence (to me), as a retaining wall or city wall is in a different
class than a “wall” - too bad there is no central authority for placing signs
near these nets so I can easily identify what class they might fall into.

If I have any more free time, I’ll start taping notes to the ones nearby so
they can be clearly tagged and mapped afterwards. Perhaps “ Intended for
poodles” or “not intended for poodles”. if I visit Australia, I can put one
“intended for Sharks” on those ocean ones, so everyone’s happy. I hope I come
back alive.

In all seriousness:

I meant fence_type=net, that seems to be an acceptable solution. The =shark_net
value sounds good too.
