The telecoms MDF stuff should contain more. At least we have two types,
active and passive cabinets. With the old MDF based DSL Services those
are completely passive, non cooled, non powered copper only sub
distribution frames.

Example:

On the left and right. In the distance on the left side of the street
you can even see a small grey concrete "cabinet". Its more of the size
of a shoe-box. Its a German Telekom cable decompression outlet. This is
used for a pipe outlet for measuring air pressure loss in main cables.

With the VDSL Service (and tomorrow G.fast) the cabinets contain active
equipment (you can hear the noise), are much larger and need cooling.

My memory says we already had something in place for telecoms street
cabinets for cable distribution but i cant seem to find it.
