I don't think that this is a real problem. Chances are high that "obstacle" is intended in the same way as the proposal does intend it. Maybe some of the values currently tagged as obstacle would be better suited for barrier (the man made ones, intentionally set up, like lock). IMHO it is a pity that who used the values in the past didn't mind to document what he used them for, and apparently also doesn't read this Mailinglist, but then, what could Albert do about?
