Thank you for the quick feedback Greg, I appreciate it.
I have Bishop installed, but it is not in the same class as PocketSword.
Fortunately the iOS version on both tablets are the same.
Regards,
Johan

Good morning.
I need assistance with PocketSword please – I am aware that the developer (Nic
Carter) is no longer involved.
I got a new (for me) iPad, but when I transferred PocketSword from my old iPad
to the new iPad, PocketSword was transferred, but when I tried opening is, I
received a message that the app in no longer in the App Store and the app was
deleted from the new iPad.

Correct, PocketSword is no longer available.

Is there a way to:

  1. Install PocketSword from somewhere else?

No, Apple doesn't permit other sources of install.

  1.

2) Is there a way to transfer PocketSword from my old to the now iPad. I
know I can restore via iTunes my backup to the new iPad, but I am concerned
that work that I have already done on my new iPad will be overwritten.

It is highly unlikely you would be able to rollback the OS on your new iPad to
match the old OS version on your old one. Yes, you'd lose your new work, but
you also almost certainly would not gain PocketSword on the new device.

  1. Any other suggestions?

You would need to use another app.
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/bishop-the-sword-project/id1399921911 This is
also available. It isn't necessarily as feature-complete as PocketSword was.
There was recently a brief discussion of it missing some of the more advanced
features on this list. But it suffices for all of the basic functionality you
would need. There are other apps, but you would need to work with their
developers to have them build for iOS. Very few of us in the SWORD ecosystem
are both iOS/Apple users and developers so there is a noticeable gap in our
coverage there.

I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you,
