I remember that effort! I was one of (probably many) who volunteered to
help. I did chunks of Chronicles and Kings. For those who don't remember,
as I understood it, Tyndale House had processed the source text of ESV,
inserting tags (into ESV) where it found a Strongs reference in another
translation (KJV??), knowing that their tool was imprecise, they then
recruited an army of volunteers to go thru each book/chapter and manually
pinpoint the exact spot where each of the tags should actually be (they
were nearly always close to the right spot). Not difficult, just
time-consuming. But now I use their ESV-THE module in Xiphos, and am happy
to have it!
