Michael Hart's example from Cebuano (a language of the Philippines) should be treated with a degree of caution before transferring the described method to any of the Bantu languages in Africa.
This caution may be warranted on the grounds that the alphabets of several Bantu languages contain digraphs such as `mb` and `nd` where two latin consonants are joined to symbolise one sound. Merely doing the analysis on latin consonants would therefore lead into all sorts of problems. Even a language nearer to my home such as Welsh has an alphabet that contains several digraphs.
