Ok, I still haven't won this one. I think I now have my files in the correct structure as per Nic's diagram. Xiphos now finds my files and gives no errors installing the module when I point it to the folder containing the mods.d and the modules folders. But it doesn't copy any files into .sword/modules/texts/ztext/ -- it only seems to find and copy the config file.

Even if I copy the files manually into the right folder for Sword, Xiphos still just displays a blank screen (with heading) instead of the selected verses (and I can't change the verse reference boxes).

Diatheke gives no errors but no text:
Home$ diatheke -b Matigsalug -k Ge 1:1
Genesis 1:1:
(Matigsalug)
I'm not sure where to look or go back to from here. I didn't seem to get an errors anywhere along the way but something is still obviously not quite right.

Thanks,
Robert.

Hi Robert,

I'm no modules expert, but I have a nice little pic I did for someone a few months ago with the structure of a module.

Hope that helps!  ybic

I've had fun with a USFM New Testament, converted it to OSIS using the Perl script and then to a module using osis2mod. So far, so good...

I'm trying to follow instructions in http://www.crosswire.org/wiki/DevTools:confFiles.
...4/ Can you see anything wrong/missing in my skeletal matigsalug.conf file -- this is the one for the compressed module:
[Matigsalug]
DataPath=.modules/texts/ztext/matigsalug/
Description=Matigsalug Scriptures
ModDrv=zText
CompressType=ZIP
BlockType=BOOK
Direction=LtoR
SourceType=OSIS
Encoding=UTF-8
Abbreviation=MBTV
Version=0.9
Category=Biblical Texts
LCSH=Bible.
Lang=mbt
