The error appears on start up, immediately after the UI is drawn and before the user raises any events.

The fact that it is in the "sword-1.5.8pre1.exe" "module" is somewhat helpful because it tells us that it's not in a DLL. And the "Read of address 00000000" is helpful in that it tells us it's a null pointer read (i.e. it identifies the type of error).
