The size of Java 1.4 JRE is 1.2M. My opinion is that Java belongs on everyone's machine.
Yes it has advantages for other packages e.g. Huckstar.
Anyway the point of all this is that JSword will have a relatively small footprint.
I tried again last night and with some rationalisation (anything that has an equivalent in the base install is now an option). Java now fits in as default so jSword so be trivial to add!
Looking forward to the new version.
