There are infinite amount of things that are essential for some operations. Just looking around, I found dhcp server, http servers, scripting languages, X, vpns and so on. Hopefully, our base system will not grow to include that too. I actively oppose to the bloat of the base system, and I consider the tool to be unappropriate for it. Use ports. Please.
