I personally find that behavior to be horrible... But that's what makes it a flame war. Last time this BBQ came up, I thought it was agreed that there would be a xterm-XXX that didn't do this behavior for those folks that think the current behavior is harmfully wrong... : Is there a good reason for not using the (presumably correct and : up-to-date) termcap file that ships with ncurses? About 4-5 years ago I discovered that we had many entries that were more up to date than that file, but there has been an ncurses import since then...
