I know about the calibration files. I've been using them for years, just 
recording A-format to 4 tracks.
For me recording is also a creative process.
As an engineer I would not disregard these facts and record to A-format and 
process with VVEncode and calibration files :)

Thanks for the info. This is what I suspected, and nice to know that this is 
how you do it.

I'm in the process of comparing the levels of different A to B-format 
conversions (VVEncode, Surroundzone2 and "A-format Soundfield by Rode"), just 
to see if there are big level differences between each.

BTW, Sound Devices help stopped responding... Not very helpfull...
