Interesting ! Just a few week ago I finished an app that allows to
generate up to 24 higher order beams from em32 input. It also uses
SH internally, up to 4th order. Beams are continuously variable at
any order between cardioid, over supercardioid (actually max-rE),
to hypercardioid. EQ can be adjusted continuousy between flat
on-axis and flat for a diffuse field.

I'm using this at work as part of a rather complex processing chain.
The part that is missing is the code to set the PGA gains. Is there
any technical documentation available on this (AFAIK it's just MIDI) ?

A world of exhaustive, reliable metadata would be an utopia.
It's also a pipe-dream, founded on self-delusion, nerd hubris
and hysterically inflated market opportunities. (Cory Doctorow)
