Hi Gus,
You could import the multichannel wav into Reaper and right click and use
'explode to separate tracks command'

Cheers, Paul Power

Hi,
Does anyone know any software that will allow me to split an interleaved
10.2 file into its separate channels for mixing. I've tried audition and
Nuendo to no avail. I'm on a PC at the moment so soundhack is not an option,
best,
Gus

I guess I could just use max with an sfplay going into seperate record
channels - but I am trying to avoid it....

Hi Augustine

I am not sure if the Sound Devices Wave Agent will handle that much tracks.
Most likely it will. I have used it for 4, 6 and 8 track multichannel files.

Also these came into mind:

I think Richard Dobson's Channelx will split any multichannel file:
http://people.bath.ac.uk/masrwd/mctools.html

It's a command line program. Very fast. Needs lotsa careful typing.

- - -

I have also sometimes made a real time conversion from a multichannel
file into separate files simply by re-recording it inside AudioMulch. Use a
16 File Player module and a 16 File Recorder in the contraption.
Configure the Recorder to record separate files.

I guess Blogue Bidule can do the same. But as said, it takes the real time
to record.

I'm pretty sure Wave Agent will handle 12 tracks: (788 has 8 ISOs, L,R, Aux 1,
Aux 2.)

If it is a ordinary wav file, try to open it in Reaper :-) in a track defined
for may channels.

If it is a simple adjustment you can do it in repaer - or save the file as
individual tracks

On OsX, you can get SoxWrap, a GUI frontend to Sox.
Also freeware from RME: RMEWAVprocessor

Some fine command line tools there, should be easy with them but Max
would be ok if if you're allergic to the command line, tho' I would use
Plogue Bidule as it's more straightforward for that sort of task.
Alternatively, Audacity will split to separate channels (works up to at
least 32 channels - just checked) but you might not wish to use that for
mixer.

You could also try Wave Agent from Sound Devices, free of charge from
