It's one of those things : It is a problem because it is perceived to be a problem. Must admit, ordering a spare break-out cable ('just in case') is on that list of jobs 'to do' that never get done ;-)> So the obsession with connectors (referred to yesterday) is I think from two causes: --mini-XLRs _look_ fragile --fiddling to get the correct one of (?)24 possible permutations of the four capsules to the snake is a ****! Especially in dim lighting ... and you didn't bring a lamp ... and ... So Core Sound's next product is awaited with interest !!! To second Len, I must say I have only had one failure. Fortunately in the pre-concert warm up, we discovered we were monitoring on only three capsules. The problem was at the mic end, _but_ was a standard XLR-XLR connection ... and that just shouldn't happen !
