Thanks all - very interesting stuff. Just to clarify - when I say permanent
sound installation - I really mean "sound art" installation ie a soundscape
composition of sorts as opposed to the technical installation of
multichannel equipment which is used for different events/shows, I think
the war scene Charlie referred me to I would class as a sort of permanent
multichannel soundscape composition, whereas, say, a multuichannel audio
system used for various theater show falls outside the bounds of what I am
currently looking at
