Hi Richard and hi everybody, of course you can say I gave my availability to go there and record the IRs and Sweeps.. I am impressed how you could organize things so quickly and effectively, and I'll be delighted to do that.
I drive through the Gran Sasso tunnel almost every week, and entering in that iconic laboratory for physics will be of course thrilling. I'll bring an ST450 as from the original idea, but also a built sphere with Schoeps CCM2s' and a couple of DPA 4060s for a quick self-weared binhaural as well.. I think these three methods will give a fairly complete 'picture' of the space and differently usable sound files.. Apart from the weird resonant space of the small metal sphere - a resonator to be used for sure for sonification pourposes as you said - I think the acoustics of the big tank containing the sphere, will be more usable as an interesting reverb. So I'll try to do both if there will be time.. Advices are welcome and thank you.. But please don't tell me to float in argon for too long... :o) David Il giorno 08/feb/2013, alle ore 22.53, Richard Dobson ha scritto: > A follow-up: > > I was contacted off-list, and it looks like things are going ahead - we have > permission from one of the PIs for the recording, and there is not really > anything else for me to do now apart from hope it all happens, and eventually > receive some soundfiles.
