The Ambi-5 Auditorium Decoder. I have a
PDF of an Audio + Design leaflet which
somebody sent me. If people want it I can
place it on my Google Site for download.
However, it just says:

"The Ambi-5 produces five loudspeaker feeds
arranged as a regular pentagon with
loudspeaker spacing of 72 [degs]. The rotated
output gives a clockwise rotation of 36 [degs].
Cascading two Ambi-5's will generate a 10
loudspeaker matrix of 36 [deg] angular
separation."

An addendum states that the Ambi-5 was used
by the Cure on their USA tour. I have no idea
when that would have been.
