Dear J?rn,

did you consider using Wave Field Synthesis? [...]

i haven't quite understood how very sparse WFS systems are supposed to
work (IOSONO presented one with 1m tweeter distance at the

will a circle of eight systems produce anything meaningful when driven
via WFS? and if so, why would anyone still call it WFS?

i need to get a windows box anyway, so i'll have a look at SSR asap...
sounds like it allows for easy A/B comparison between the different
rendering methods?

best,

Dear Jörn and Sascha,

@ Jörn: If you really have to time to play around a bit, you could assemble the individual boxes of your 8 line arrays (should be around 60 or 70 in sum?) to set up a circular array and this way test at least an approximation of a dense WFS array (run by the SSR). Additionally, this way you would be very well able to render/compare to 2D-VBAP or Ambisonicsdecoding...of course, you'll loose some advantages of your original large 8 lines, as e.g. the long throw and the controlled directivity, ... I admit, that this is not a really serious proposal of mine, but maybe it will be fun ;-)

Greetings
Alex
