Problem solved.
Procedure used:
1- Enter about:config
2- Filter for string "UTF-8"
3- Delete all other pagecodes present in the listed fields
(example: 1252)
Done !
Comment: It looked like years ago, the fields were filled in with
my original choice (Western), but now there was no way to revert
that selection using the normal commands available in the Edit ->
Preferences menu.
Rubens, in my Linux SM 2.49.1, if I enter "Edit" -> "Preferences" and
select "Appearance" -> "Fonts", I can see that I have the "Western" font
selected. And then I get to check all sorts of Typefaces.
Is it different for you??
this "solution" doesn't make much sense? "1- Enter about:config"
where/what do you mean by this, enter the file? a hidded menu? maybe
a console somewhere..
Dave, if you enter "about:config" (without the double quotes) in the
addressbar and accept the warning, you get to see all sorts of
Preferences, which you can alter (remembering the Warning which you
previously accepted) to change how SeaMonkey appears.
