2.40 is the latest official version. 2.46 is not finished today and not released! There exists a lot of different *unofficial* beta, preview and release candidates of 2.46 version. for example here: <https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/seamonkey/candidates/2.46-candidates/build6/> The confusing point is: On a windows 64bit, if you have installed such a *32bit* preview 2.46 SeaMonkey, and you click on "Help->Check for update", you will be offered a 2.46 update! If you accept this update, your 32bit SeaMonkey will be replaced with an *unofficial* preview 2.46 SeaMonkey, but in *64bit*. Installed in the "old" directory "%ProgramFiles(x86)%\SeaMonkey\". 64bit versions should be installed in "%ProgramFiles%\SeaMonkey\". HTH Happy computing!
