I used MozBackup to copy "stuff" from my normal user profile to a new
Seamonkey profile. When I copy "general settings", the Picasa images
are not shown, I can copy everything else. Problem solved? No, even
though I copy the add-ons, they cannot be enabled. The question to
use this bypass thus is: what is in "general settings" as seen by
MozBackup?
It seems to me that if an add-on is not installed on the target
computer, no amount of pointing to nonexistent files by SeaMonkey
settings will help. The same with dll files.
So if your source installation has Flash (to use an obvious example) and
your target does not, copying the helper app settings and the dll will
not enable the target computer to play Flash videos. You need to install
the Flash app before restoring the source settings to the target computer.
