Yes, add the user multiple times with different nicknames to the same or different address book. Always worked for me. I have multiple address books and many of my friends are members of more than one book. So, same e-mail address with different nicknames.
That would be annoying if I have to update the contact more than once. Ugh. Oh well, thanks all. :)
