In the situation with Eudora that I described earlier in this thread, having a nickname for another nickname means that a change of E-mail address has to be made only once, in the entry where the nickname is for that address. An analogy in Windows would be to have a shortcut to a file and then another shortcut to the first shortcut, etc, etc. Any change to the file would appear for all the shortcuts. This analogy is not perfect since you could change the file through any of the shortcuts while changing an E-mail address in Eudora requires finding the nickname entry that contains the actual E-mail address. -- David E.
