Suggestions on moving from 2.0.14 to 2.5

I think I'm finally ready to upgrade from 2.0.14 to 2.5. I'd like to keep 2.0.14 on my PC for now, and just test 2.5. I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to do this with the fewest problems. I'm especially concerned with keeping my bookmarks and addons working on both versions.
