I just saw that Qt 5 introduced a nice way to create Q_PROPERTY linked to an attribute without the need to write the getter and setter (with MEMBER). This would allow to remove some boilerplate code.
I will start to work on a mock up of the UI in qml, and then try to integrate it into the current codebase.
