Hi, So, if you start STAFProc manually (i.e. not as a STAF service), does the problem still occur? From the remote machine you could submit "STAF machineA.domain.my SHUTDOWN SHUTDOWN" and then on the Windows 2008 R2 machine run D:\Validation\STAF\startSTAFProc.bat.
I would also suggest upgrading to the latest version of STAF (3.4.4).

Hi all,
we have problems launching STAF as a service on Windows 2008 R2 and
accessing as LOCAL service. No problems instead accessing from remote
machine through TCP/IP interface.

Error registering with STAF, RC: 21
This is the output of ping command launched from remote machine:
