We have a project that is light hazard (office space) and they have a built in storage unit 18"x18"x18" cubicles inside with cabinet doors, it is 6' wide and 7'6" high. It is totally recessed into the wall with no open space above, drywall to the ceiling.
I seem to remember something in the code about built in unit not requiring sprinkler protection but can't find it., plus it seems very impractical to install 4 heads into this unit, one in each top cubical.
