Is this actually a standpipe? Or just hose connections coming off of a sprinkler system? It's not normally a requirement for a single-story building to require a standpipe.
If it is a standpipe, is it designed as a manual wet standpipe? You would need a pumper truck connected to the FDC in order to test that. Or is it an automatic standpipe and there should be a fire pump kicking on to provide flow/pressure when you start flowing water? Learn why this is important<https://aka.ms/LearnAboutSenderIdentification> Good Afternoon, I am performing a 5-year flow test for a single-story data center that has 2.5" outlets through the hallways. The calc plate says it is designed for a discharge rate of 1000gpm, when supplied with water at the rate of 1250gpm at 69psi at the base of the riser. Hose stream allowance of 1000gpm is included. There is no fire pump, and the static pressure is approximately 72psi. I flowed the farthest outlet with a flow meter, and I was able to get 425gpm with a residual of 62 at the base of the riser. The AHJ wants testing to be performed per NFPA 25. Would this mean I need to flow 1000 or 1250gpm simultaneously? I will need a pump truck to achieve these numbers. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! [cid:[email protected]]
