Hi Joel,
Thank you for your valuable comments. First, I would like to confirm that the hosts are under the operator39s administration and are integrated within the same administrative domain as our access devices. We also use administrative protocols(YANG) for managing and accessing host information, which is consistent with the usual practice and not a modification point in this document. This draft is specifically designed for route advertisement. Although static configurations are currently the usual approach for host route advertisement, we propose the use of LLDP to achieve dynamic route publishing. This change is intended to increase flexibility and enhance efficiency in our network operations. I39ve noticed that the description in Chapter 2 of the draft is not accurate enough, which could indeed cause confusion. I apologize for this. We will update the document as soon as possible to provide a clearer and more comprehensive explanation of this critical aspect. Hope this can address your concerns. If any misunderstanding, please feel free to let us know. Namely an explanation of who administers the hosts. SRv6 is for use within limited domains. typically hosts administered by the operator are within the operators network, not across an access network. And are subject to administrative protocols such as YANG controlled by the operator. THis appears to be a case where the hosts are part of some other administration?Yours,JoelOn 10/10/2024 3:35 AM, Liyan Gong wrote:>> Dear Chairs and WG,>>> we have recently submitted a new draft and we sincerely look forward > to your comments and suggestions.>>> This draft describes the method of carrying SRv6 locator information > through the LLDP protocol which can be applied on the access devices > and hosts.>>> It will simplify the SRv6 deployment in scenarios where the hosts do > not support complex routing protocols and can not dynamically > advertise there own Locator information.>>> Please find the detailed information in the email below.
