Xuesong hi,
In my email to the authors and the
WG<https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/spring/2PixJFOrEmcYALs_ylQihyibKYw/> I
have asked to clarify whether the same Downstream replication SID could be
included in the Replication State of different "upstream" Replication SODs
(including the case when these "upstream" Replication SIDs are instantiated in
different nodes ).
The response received from
Rishabh<https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/spring/gCrxZKUXwGybEyjshdGX4dzhk0M/>
strongly suggests to me that the authors have decided to leave usage of
Replication SIDs in MP2MP SR policies out of scope of the current set of
drafts.
As long as Replication SIDs are used only in P2MP SR Policies, the Downstream
SIDs provide the required context for upstream-allocated labels advertised in
the PTA of Multicast VPN routes.
I have suggested that the scope limitation should be explicitly stated in the
relevant drafts.
My 2c,
Sasha

draft-ietf-spring-sr-replication-segment
Hi authors and WG,
I have gone through the thread and find it is still not very clear to me about
how to handle MVPN in IPv6 case when using replication segment.
Based on my understanding, there are 2 options here:
1. Every multicast service flow uses different replication segments
without the requirement of MVPN distinguish, where seems to be a contradiction
with claim that replication segment could be reused by different multicast flow
2. Use "additional context" to indicate MVPN which is not clearly defined
in the existing document or other SPRING work
I think more clarification is requested here.

Xuesong
