Greetings, Currently, all meetings are board meetings — AGM excepted, which has a section where anyone can speak and happens the second Monday of July. Why? Because Bylaws said so.
With this being said, you can ask any director to sponsor a point, zv and me have done that several times for projects and individuals alike. The channel doesn't have mode +m, so nothing is actively stopping you from commenting. Making sure you are not disruptive, most likely no one will care if you take advantage of that. The general idea was always to encourage membership participation and involvement with SPI, so I don't think anyone will censor you if you decide to comment on something and manage to not be disruptive about it. Ultimately the president has the final word on that, though, so contacting him privately beforehand is likely a good idea. Regarding the email title, I'll let zv know (although he likely is reading the message anyway). As for AOB, as I said earlier: Items for discussion should be submitted until ~48 hours prior to the meeting (if urgent, the usual cutoff date is actually almost a whole week iirc). "Any other business" is anything which is raised during the meeting and we decide it's not controversial or requires immediate attention — instead of postponing it to next meeting as would be appropriate. IIRC, it's also in AOB during AGM that the open floor happens. They're not SPI-specific terms. Jonatas L. I am re-sending it hoping to workaround and help solve a problem which prevented it from being archived on the web. Apologies to subscribers] Thank you, It would help to use consistent terminology regarding these meetings. Are they "Board meetings", as generally used on the website, or just "SPI meetings", as generally used in these notices? This matters because the former seems to exclude public participation, unlike the latter. While we're at it, regarding the invitations, I suggest dropping the time from titles or moving it at the end (by the way, the year can also be dropped when it's the current year). And regarding the proposed agenda, the distinction between items #7 (Items up for discussion) and #8 (Any other business) is unclear.
