Is it possible for habeas to make their watermark not fakeable? because it is naiv to believe that no one will misuse their watermark because of law, and it is naiv to think that they can find and sue everyone who misused their watermark. And for us they have rbl system we can use to check violator, but it works only after people get the spam and report it to them. it is not effectiv. I don't know about cryptography, but I think it should be possible to sign every emails (sent with habeas header) with the shared key between the mail client or sending smtp server and the habeas server. And SA can prove the authenticity of the sender with the key from habeas server. The complete protocol maybe would look like the kerberos protocol. The encrypted signature contains sender identity, checksums and the expiration time need only to be put in header together with the habeas text, so there is no change in smtp protocol. So, is such protocol possible for email transfer with habeas watermark (or any other watermark)? sorry if my understanding with kerberos protocol is wrong or if this idea is not praticable.
