Be aware that this is very qmail specific unless you've configured your MTA to deliver to Maildir style mailboxes. While I use qmail and prefer it, better to make sure that people know that this (as is any solution to the question posed by Liu) dependent on your MTA/MDA combination.

my bad, thanks for pointing that out Dave. I had just assumed that with a Spam folder he was using Maildir style storage. Chalk it up to 4+ days of high fever and a bad cold/flu from which I am still recovering.
