Heh, serendipity.

I run an ISP, inch.com.

We complained to them about spam to "@inch.com" this morning. They
responded saying they were 100% opt-in. We went looking through the
maillog.

Dictionary spam. The nerve of some people.

All the copies I dug up have :

From: "Traffic Post" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

as well as all the other [EMAIL PROTECTED] headers.

I'd encourage everyone to blacklist these idiots.

Subject: Spam Complaint against 66.209.84.3
Date: Wed, 24 Dec 2003 11:35:38 -0800

Hi,

This is to let you know that what we are sending out to any of your clients is
not spam.

Each person that we send email to has opted in to our partner site which
SPECIFICALLY states that they will receive 3rd party offers.
Again, they were sent an e-mail allowing them to opt out with a notice that
they choose to opt in to receive special offers from them and our 3rd party
sites. - Again, these people did not opt out.

Now, Mail-Power, as a partner site is giving them a 3rd option to opt out and
not participate with us. We have made it very convenient as possible for each
and every person. On EVERY email that goes out there is an opt-out link and
for EVERY email that goes out there is also a toll free number you can call.
This assures people that they are able to get off of this email.

Mail-Power is very understanding of the complaints and circumstances and we will
handle each one of them individually and we will take them off of the email
lists ASAP. Please understand that our company is on the up-and-up and we
understand the laws and definately strive to follow them completely.

I'm personally sorry you are getting complaints, but any complaints you have,
please let them know that there are very easy, effective ways to get off of our
email list right at the bottom of the email.

Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.

Sincerely,

Samantha Bullock
