This is becoming a common problem, which I just wrote about in this message <http://article.gmane.org/gmane.mail.pine.general/1479> that I posted to the pine-info mailing list. The relevant part is Scenario 2, which as I say in the message is a real scenario. I think that the solution is that people have to start demanding that providers give users the *option* to have control over their mail flow. And I include this in my list of " What to Look For in an IMAP Service Provider," which is here: <http://www.ii.com/internet/messaging/imap/isps/#look4> In your situation I would ask them to set up their MTA to route your mail to a system where you can control the mail flow (set up your own procmail recipes, edit your SA user_prefs file, etc.). If they won't provide you with such a machine, you can sign up for one of the IMAP providers I list on my page.
