This seems like a rather critical piece of information for somebody trying to fine-tune their scoring. I read some of the POD docs, both the spamd and spamc man pages, the top-level README, and the FAQ, and did not see this little nugget anywh
There is a considerably more verbose version, if you read the proper manpage.
man Mail::SpamAssassin::Conf, while describing the "score" keyword states:
" If four valid scores are listed, then the score that
is used depends on how SpamAssassin is being used. The
first score is used when both Bayes and network tests
are disabled. The second score is used when Bayes is
disabled, but network tests are enabled. The third
score is used when Bayes is enabled and network tests
are disabled. The fourth score is used when Bayes is
enabled and network tests are enabled. "
