Among other reasons, it doesn't play nicely with package managers. Debian and the few RPM-based systems that also use apt have an advantage here; apt takes care of tracking down the required dependencies for you. I have to agree that installing an RPM-packaged SA on a bare-bones RHL system can be time-consuming *just* due to satisfying the Perl dependencies. But once it's installed, it's *much* faster to keep up to date (aside from the configuration file syntax changes). -kgd -- "Sendmail administration is not black magic.
