I used Pegasus for a long time but I've since switched to Sylpheed
(http://sylpheed-claws.sourceforge.net/win32/) It's a Win32 port of the
lightweight GTK-based mail client. The nice thing is that Sylpheed (or
the bleeding-edge Sylpheed-claws) supports all the platforms I use
regularly (Linux & Win32), it stores mail in mh/Maildir folders rather
than monolithic mbox format or stupid proprietary formats, it's flexible
and extensible, and you have to go to extreme lengths to make it display
HTML (this is considered a major advantage by most Sylpheed users; you
don't have to worry about vulnerabilities in some other vendor's HTML
rendering libraries.) As a bonus, Sylpheed-claws can be aimed at a spamd
server (if you are running spamd on anything but localhost) and you get
all the advantages of SpamAssassin with minimal configuration and
hassle. It's free and worth checking out.
