Read the following page from the people who made Berkeley DB for info and limitations on using it over NFS. (Bayes uses DB_File which is based upon Berkeley DB). http://www.sleepycat.com/docs/ref/env/remote.html If the NFS server and NFS client code properly implement POSIX filesystem semantics (write, fsync, locking, etc) it may work.
