Read the following page from the people who made Berkeley DB for
info and limitations on using it over NFS. (Bayes uses DB_File
which is based upon Berkeley DB).

If the NFS server and NFS client code properly implement POSIX
filesystem semantics (write, fsync, locking, etc) it may work.
Be ware that NFS locking has had a checkered history and bugs
in it can cause strange erratic problems.
