You'll need to do this in your SMTP server (if possible).
If it allows, you would need to modify how your SMTP server calls SA, for each user you would specify the path to their user prefs file.

-p prefs, --prefspath=file, --prefs-file=file    Set user preferences file

You would also need to enable the use of user_prefs in your local.cf file.

For our SMTP server, it provides the option to specify an external program to run after receiving a message.  It allows us to set this system-wide or per user.

Subject: [SAtalk] user_prefs or SQL prefs under Win32 SpamAssassin?

I read the howto on setting up Spam Assassin on Win32.

I have Spam Assassin up and running as well as integrated into my mail server under Windows. It works great!

I am searching for a way to set preferences on a user by user basis under Windows. Could not find anything anywhere on this..

The closest I got was this but it sounds like it requires procmail and a bunch of Linux stuff I don’t have. Seems as though it still relies on the linux style user home directory which just does not exist for me.

Does anyone know how to make this SQL thing work under windows? This is my preference (SQL) as far as storing user settings but I will take whatever I can get at this point, file based method or SQL.

I understand how to setup the database and setup the lines needed in the local.cf file. Problem is that it seems as though SA needs some way to have the username/email address passed to it, not sure how to accomplish this under Windows.

I have spent many hours searching the archives of mailing list, google and through the docs.. Nothing.. Any help would be most appreciated..
