No, sorry I didn't answer. I tried to find any logic in that but couldn't.

It seems like it actually doesn't; that stuff above is not a header added by 
SpamAssassin but by qmail-scanner. And somehow it determines the version of 
SpamAssassin incorrectly. It can't query the version from spamc because 
that one doesn't provide any version information (another thing I will fix 
for 2.70). But as I dont' know qmail-scanner and how it works I have no 
idea at all how this happens... (he says and goes downloading the 
qmail-scanner tarball :-)

Ok, now I know. It seems like qmail-scanner caches the versions of the 
helper scripts in a file called qmail-scanner-queue-version.txt. So that 
one just isn't up-to-date. In the manual-install.php I found a line which 
says
  /var/qmail/bin/qmail-scanner-queue.pl -z # to initialize the version file.
Maybe that helps, I dunno.

Japp, the spamd --version stuff was a hack I added to the tarballs provided 
by me.
