Now, that's weird. Maybe the new Makefile put the libs into another dir than 
the one before and the stand-alone spamassassin uses a different dir. But 
that's pretty unlikely. Have you restarted spamd? (Just to be sure :o)

I put another patched version online [1] which added a --version switch to 
spamd and made the info from spamassassin more verbose. Could you please 
tell me what
  spamassassin --version
and
  spamd --version
gives?
