Hello, currently I am looking for options on how to speed up spamassassin 2.54. My setup processes about 1 million mails per day on 6 machines. I use spamd/spamc and run only local checks with no bayesian filtering. If machines have high load they spend almost 90% of their CPU time in spamd and 10% in system routines as indicated by top. Disk-load is no issue as is bandwith.
Did any of you analyze (profile) where most of the CPU in spamassassin is spent? Is there a chance that I may significantly increase performance by omitting some rules that contain costly regexps? Is there an easy way to find out how much time spamassassin spends on each regexp? Do you think that changing spamd/spamc so that it can use a local socket instead of TCP/IP based communication will help? Any other ideas of improving spamassassin performance? Any input would be greatly appreciated. best regards, Jochen ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Spamassassin-talk mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/spamassassin-talk
