I too use a catch-all account. It's particularly useful when I want to segregate spamming affiliates from honest lists. I simply register with a new email address (eg: subscribe to the NY Times with [EMAIL PROTECTED]), and I know that 1) email from NYT with that email address is valid, 2) email from anyone else with that email address is invalid. My son used this capability when signing up for something he KNEW would send back not only what he wanted, but also lots of spam. He signed up as [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- He got his one item, and we get lots of spam. I see this (and other random or munged email addresses) as sure spamsign. I can flag anything addressed to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with an SA rule score high enough to ensure auto-learn, and I don't have to worry about feeding these to bayes manually. That way Bayes learns about new spam that much more quickly and automatically.
